The Middle East and globalization: encounters and horizons brings together contributions from leading scholars in Middle East Studies with a shared interest in theoretically ambitious approaches to globalization and world society. The volume discusses past and contemporary political, societal, economic, and cultural trends in the Middle East against the background of comprehensive theories of globalization. The contributors draw from a shared methodological approach to look at the fractured encounters and shared horizons of globalization that are shaping the Middle East.
