Abstract

The report was brought together by the Centre for Civil Society at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) with the support of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. It analyses the development and the changing relationships of the voluntary sector in the UK over the past 5 years. It identifies several key issues, including the nature of relationships with the Government, which must be addressed if the voluntary sector is to play an effective role in the 21st century.
