Abstract

Housing inequality is an urgent issue with a material dimension. Under current funding conditions, policies and practices, attempts to improve Britain's social housing stock often end up perpetuating social inequality. Dr Mona Sloane, a sociologist and recent PhD graduate from LSE Sociology, explains why it is key to rethink the valuation frameworks that underpin housing policy to tackle this.
