Abstract

There has been a marked rise in self-employed people in the UK in recent years. While typical workers saw a 6 per cent drop in weekly wages, the self-employed have seen a 20 per cent drop in earnings. Research by Conor D’Arcy of the Resolution Foundation shows that many self-employed people have been refused loans and tenancies due to their status.
