Abstract

This paper: • considers the extent of economic inequality within and between ethnic groups; • examines the relationship between economic inequality within ethnic groups and poverty rates across ethnic groups; and • discusses the implications of a better understanding of inequality within ethnic groups for analysis of, and approaches to, ethnic minority poverty.
