21 chapters that were first presented at an international workshop in June 1999 titled "Evaluation of Regional Policies" and co-sponsored by the European Union and the Swedish Saving Bank. The papers are organized into four sections that explore regional policy and the location of economic opportunity, policy evaluation approaches, methodological considerations of policy evaluation and policy application, and conceptual contributions.
