Abstract
This paper is a brief review of Judith Butler’s work. I will focus on some of the main topics of her academic career, such as the gender norms that make us subjects and the possibility of having a political ethic that critiques the violence of the nation state and the liberal subject. I will also summarize her views on the work of other scholars such as Foucault, Derrida, Adorno, Bajtin, Benjamin, Arendt, Levinas or Freud.
