Abstract

International relations theories depict China as a rising power, confronting the dominant US. I provide empirical evidence for how the rising power depicts rhetorically its challenge to its domestic audience and foreigners. My research identifies the topic areas highlighted by Xi Jinping as he expands China’s world influence. Acknowledgements: This research was funded by the US-UK Fulbright Commission.
