Abstract
A just-born puppy is suffocated by amniotic fluid. The human breeder has to immediately suck all the queasy liquid out of its mouth and nose to save it. I am doing my PhD fieldwork on the ambivalent values and human-dog ethics in the Tibetan Mastiff breeding craze in China. Acknowledgements: LSE PhD Studentship
