This article is a research note that updates an earlier article published by the author concerning the circumstances and fate of Karl Wichmann (1868-1948). It provides information on several issues that was not known when the earlier article was prepared. Wichmann was Professor of German at the University of Birmingham from 1907 till his resignation in 1917. The article particularises how their British nationality was withdrawn from Wichmann and his wife and gives some further details about their life after Wichmann's return to Germany in the early 1920s. An appendix updates some biographical details about two other cases mentioned in the earlier article, those of Charles Frederick Herdener and Julius Freund.
