Abstract
This qualitative research seeks to explore the paradoxical relationship of forced displacement and the empowerment of Syrian refugee women in the Levantine protracted refugee context. To understand this phenomenon an in-depth literature review, ethnographic fieldwork and twelve qualitative interviews with Syrian women were conducted in two Lebanese refugee sites.
