In A Government That Worked Better And Cost Less?: Evaluating Three Decades of Reform and Change in UK Central Government, Christopher Hood and Ruth Dixon offer a new study of the impact of ‘New Public Management’, introduced in the UK during the administration of Margaret Thatcher.
