Abstract
My fieldwork is based in Mayapur, West Bengal where the Hare Krishnas have their international headquarters. Once a week the devotees leave their compound for ‘Food for Life.’ In this photo, young villagers enjoy the kitchari given out by the Hare Krishnas. There is usually more than enough and everyone will fill as many containers as they can get away with.
