Abstract
"Progressive Politics After the Crash: Governing from the Left." Olaf Cramme, Patrick Diamond and Michael McTernan (eds). I. B. Tauris, 2013. --- Those who hoped the collapse of financial markets would usher in the end of neoliberalism and rehabilitate support for traditional social democratic policies programmes have been disappointed. Instead, neoliberals have thus far shaped the discourses surrounding austerity, shrinking the State and slashing welfare. How and why this has been the case, and how the centre-Left might successfully counter-attack this narrative, are the focus of the excellent collection of essays in Progressive Politics After the Crash. Reviewed by Peter Dorey.
