Abstract
The objective of the research was to review the relevant literature and data to identify hard evidence about the nature and performance of law and order services in deprived areas (in terms of outputs, outcomes, effectiveness and access) compared to non-deprived areas; the causes of any such differences; and the resource problems faced by those services.
