Abstract
The study reflected on what happens when EU migrant applicants claim poverty-relieving, non-contributory UB II benefits in local German job centres. The data challenged the common pretence of EU policy debates that the settlement of EU migrant citizens in Germany happens without hurdles. Instead, the analysis revealed the types of inequalities in access to claiming welfare benefits and associated services in local job centres that EU migrant citizens may experience.
