Abstract

The article critically analyses the use-of-force standard and mistaken belief in police professional misconduct hearings in light of the decision of the Court of Appeal in R. (W80) . The article argues that, as a matter of law and principle, the proper interpretation of the use-of-force standard is an objective one.
