Abstract

This book contains 18 chapters by media specialists on the growth of alternative media and the challenges they pose to large media corporations worldwide. Their essays develop a framework for analyzing alternative media, such as web discussion forums, feminist film, and indigenous communication, and its role in global struggles such as the antiglobalization movement.
