Abstract
Robert Moffitt and Peter Gottschalk’s 1995 paper has been, and continues to be, extensively cited, and has remained available from Robert’s website at Johns Hopkins University. Although the authors got a ‘revise and resubmit’ from a top journal, events and other commitments intervened and they never got around to resubmitting the paper.Meanwhile, researchers have kept on citing their paper, both for its methodological contribution and for its substantive results. We are delighted to now be able to include the paper in our Rediscovered Classics series. We thank Robert and Peter for making this possible.
