Abstract

This report was published at the Value of Networked Journalism conference at the LSE on 11 June 2010. The conference was hosted by Polis in partnership with the BBC College of Journalism. The full text can be downloaded from the Polis website. It is designed to stimulate discussion about the state of journalism and to encourage investment in the future of new forms of news production. Above all, it is an attempt to get journalists, citizens and policy-makers to think about what journalism is for. What is its use to society, the economy and the individual? What is its value?
