Abstract

Gender analysis in development, as in most fields, has focused almost exclusively on relations between men and women, and has been woman- oriented because of concern about their subordination. Here scholars in a variety of disciplines concentrate on men's diverse gendered identities, and how these are implicated in their everyday working lives in developing countries.
